reading notes.
Two practical worksheets: choose an arrangement, then refine it. Fill them here or print them. No answers are submitted. Unless your browser preserves them, entries may be lost when you reload; print or save the completed page when you are finished.
Worksheet 01 / Before choosing
Nightstand & bed-reading fit
Complete this in the place where you read most often, with a real book open. “No purchase needed” is a useful outcome if your current arrangement already works.
Completed example · hypothetical reader
Reading job: a paperback for 25 minutes, sitting against two pillows. Problem: the bedside lamp lights the whole room. Book position: on knees, both hands used for page turns. Attachment preference: keep the book free. Port nearby: a suitable USB-C cable and charger on the desk. First candidate: Original Neck Gray. Unresolved question: will the neckband sit comfortably against the pillow? Decision rule: keep looking if wearing it makes me change my normal posture.
Worksheet 02 / Once the light is in hand
The three-evening setup experiment
Use the same book and normal room lighting where practical. Record a baseline, change one variable, then repeat the arrangement you prefer. Settings are your observations, not a product performance test.
Completed example · hypothetical setup
Baseline: book on knees; lamp aimed at the center; near page clear but far margin dim. Single change: adjusted the head toward the far page without changing brightness. Observation: both margins readable in this position; page turns still easy. Next evening: repeat the angle, then check spill from the neighboring seat. Decision: keep this position unless the book moves lower.
Keep these observations with your product manual. Follow its charging and adjustment instructions; do not force a hinge or connector to fit.
